Yep...Perkins diesels were starting to try to figre out how to conserve fuel back in the late 70s.

Well your limited on your performance for it. But perkins is rolls royce, dorman, and cat. so if its good enough for them then it must be reliable. I have seen some with 3-53T detroits in them. Only down side is loud and burns more oil than diesel.
