Thermostat gasket

Installing motlrcraft thermostat. Came with gasket. Do I use the gasket with or without any permatex?

I use a very slight film, just enough to make it tackey not so much it squirts out everywhere. Pretty sure most people install dry, but I like a little insurance against slight unevenness in the castings.

I put a very think coat of permatex on the gasket to help it seal never had a problem with it. I also you black cat glue to help seal once and awhile.
