Earlier today,I pulled the water drain plug on the 85 with the 83 6.9 in it, the water drain plug on the oil cooler. It had a fair amount of dirty motor oil in the antifreeze. Since Im about to pull the motor (weather permitting and devising a away to hosit the motor out) to remove bunk and broke glow plug tips out of motor. Does that mean the head gaskets that Im fixing to replace are shot or the oil cooler Orings shot too? Also, is it a monster to put back together the oil cooler with leaking? And who carries the O rings?

If you are pulling the motor I would rebuild the oil cooler wether it needs it or not. Much easier with the motor out of the truck from what I hear.
