be happy with your 6.9 if you want a PSD get a newer truck. PSDs are overrated anyway.

...and you think you had frustrations with your turbo'ed IDI motor...

just remember, you can buy a whole set of IDI injectors for the price of ONE PSD injector.

......................But think about the power............................:D .

And yes I know PSD's are crazy expensive, and my parents probably wont alow me to do it (yes thats right, they dictate what I do to MY truck, they said I couldnt do a ZF swap, but I'll convince them eventually. Its my money, shouldnt I be able to spend it on what I want cookoo )

No, no, no. I dont go speeding through town, there's to many police driving around. But the road leading out of town and to my house, is where you can have some fun. In the 7 years of living here, I've only seen 3 cop cars parked on the road, and all of them have been in the same place, all at the same time of year (Octoberfest).

Also, I have to add something. Just last week they put up a sign to warn me when entering into town.........says no unmuffled engine braking permitted :D :rotflmao :rotflmao . That was so me, I always downshift from 60mph into 3rd going down a hill leading into town. This past week, almost everyday I've seen a cop parked right in that general area, and they all stare at me when I got driving by. I always wave and smile at them, but there out to get me I just know it, cause they are thick when lunch time rolls around as well, and usually they will follow me some. I might just be getting myself a bad reputation with the cops in these parts :D .

thats a very very low price for a psd engine! tranny and t-case too! it would be very difficult to do the swap without the electronics being included. plus the cost would add up as those electronics probably are not very cheap.

Before I decide whether or not to try to talk
you out of this. How much more power are we
talking about? Like tons? Or 30-40 hp?

And as for the parents dictating what you
can, and cannot do to your truck, is part of
managing a teenager. You'll grow out of it. :rotflmao

Like tons man, I would mod the crap out of it :D. Seriously, I doubt I'll even contact the guy, I was just thinking how awsome it would be to have a PSD.

If I were to do it, I would probably wait until summer. I would probably buy some stage 1 injectors, a 4 or 6 position chip, upgrade the turbo housing a little, an intercooler, and probably some other things. But it was just a thought, but it is one hell of a deal.

Now, now, I dont think I ever said the 6.9 was a piece of crap, I like it, its just a little on the slow side for me, even though its way better than when it was N/A. I could probably get away with it after selling the engine and turbo off my truck, I would probably come out even after buying the engine, tranny, and TC.

Dont worry guys it wont happen, its to big of a project for me.

I know you can mod the **** out of it. :D I meant stock though. :)
All those fancy doo-dads will cost you a pretty penny.
But if you got a 2 or 3 grand kicking around that you
won't need in a few years for school, then what the hell.
I say you start building now, so the trucks ready for summer. :cool

And thats the bummer part, College is just around the corner, and I have basically saved no money for it. Oh well, student loans here I come LOL .

Yeah, it would be cool to throw it in there, but its such a big project, I can imagine myself getting way overwhelmed. I mean, if it was something that I could just take out the IDI, drop the PSD in, wire the PSD up with the included wiring harness, then drop in the tranny and TC without having to buy custom driveshafts and having to rig up a tranny crossmember and what not, I would consider doing it in a heartbeat for that price. But that is a lot of what ifs, and I doubt it is that simple, so it aint going to happen. I suppose I will just have to be happy with my IDI, and keep modding until it blows :D

But yeah, the truck isnt ready for summer yet, I have a big long list of things to do to it, and my budget doesnt include swapping in a PSD.

Well I know Rob and I and a few others are well qualified to state since we own both, that dollar for dollar, as a daily driver, you gain nothing with a PSD. To make the swap worthwhile, you'd have to build the PSD up way past stock, and now your talking a good chunk of change. I definitely have more fun with the IDI Bronco than I do the Excursion, and both have been equally reliable to this point.
