Mentally Unstable..
Ok, I need to hear from those of you with an aftermarket temperature sender in the OVERTEMPERATURE SWITCH LOCATION.
It don't matter if you have a mechanical or electrical aftermerket gauge...just so long as it is in the OVERTEMPERATURE SWITCH location.
I noticed sonce the weather warmed up to between 70* and 80* that my engine temperature now is running close to 220* on my aftermatket mechanical gauge.
This is all unloaded, highway driving at about 60 - 70 MPH.
If I loaded it up, I KNOW I would burn her up...I need to know why...I am going to dig into her this weekend and see what lies within.
I changed the coolant out, pulled the block drains and put a new thermostat and gasket in last fall. Everything checked out until the weather warmed up.
I am going to snap the spring off the clutch fan right now (I have a new one to reinstall, and I know the clutch fan is getting WEAK, but not totally crapped out) and see what that does for me tomorrow.

only reason i put a aftermarket gauge was cause i was pulling a load up the mountain an the temp gauge was only on the L but the check engine light came on
