well long story short i cab swapped my 88 dually with a 96 cab.. 2 years later i finally find a cluster. using the 96 one this whole time with inop tach.

so i have a 94 cluster(idi) 92 truck wiring(everything) i hear that not everything is correct with using that cluster but all the gauges work and the tach pins are correct for the printed circuit on the back.

tach only moves when the engine is cranked maybe 200-300rpms while cranking and then drops to 0 while running blipped the fuel a few times dont move.

mind you everything worked 2 years ago with the 88 cluster and wiring.

i tested all wiring im getting .300-.600ac v (with a little rpm increase to see if it changed) at the tach pin at cluster plug. also have ground and power like needed..

any suggestions.. the guy i got the cluster from told me after buying it he couldnt check the gauges.....

WEll that was an easy fix.. Nothing like being able to watch the rpm run up and down..
