So I’m cleaning up my engine bay and started eye balling my fuel lines and noticed some thing odd.

The transfer pump inlet hardline is looped to the frame rail hardline and was stuffed under the brake booster. Any one know what happened here? I would think the factory would not have done this.

The more I look at this the more I want to get rid of it and the hard lines while the motor is out and it’s easy to work on.

I think I’m going to install and Air dog raptor pump with some pre/post e pump filters. This would conveniently allow me to return oil from the Provent 200 through the mechanical transfer pump port. Once I thought of that it got me thinking. If I have two filters on the frame rail for the e pump I could also get rid of the OEM filter for more engine bay room. Any thoughts?

The factory did part of that. Someone bypassed the stock water separator that used to be there. They were known for letting air into the fuel system. Some people rebuild them so they work properly, most just bypass it.

If you do away with the OEM fuel filter be sure that the replacement is the same micron rating or you may run into more costly issues.
