Keep the cab doors locked up so someone doesn't turn it on an run with it... Or pull the FSS wire off the injection pump when you park it somehwere.

yes or you could fix your ignition. its easy and isnt expensive

A new lock cylinder is usually $20 or less. It's one of the first things I replaced on my truck. The outer half was broken on mine and made it think the key was in the on position so the chime was always on.

does not take a locksmite, just some very carefull work....when you pull your old cyl you will see a snap on plate over the tumblers.....carefully remove it' it will be lightly spring loaded.....after you have the cap off remove the springs and tumblers (1 spring, 2 tumblers in each hole) and install into the new cylinder the same way....not that bad, but if you mix up the order you will have a little fun figuring it back out
