hello all i have a question that i think i already know the answer to but wanted to make sure

im finally finishing my 6 inch stacks on the dually this week and i am making adapter plates to go from 4 inch to 6 inch the question i have is can i get away with making this adapter with 14 gauge steel or even 14 gauge doubled because my other option is 3/16 plate which is not fun to cut .

so 14 gauge would be much easier the plate is simply a square with 4 holes one in each corner and a 4 inch hole in the middle to accept the pipe and then the bottom of the stack is welded to it

i know i keep pluggin away in threads but again...if your lookin for flanges i can cut those out as well...i have 3/16", 1/4" , 5/16", and 3/8" on hand. typically i use 3/16 or 1/4 for exhaust flanges cause 14ga will warp like crazy and not seal well.

Do you have a saber saw (jig saw)? Bosch makes some incredibly good metal cutting blades, the "progressive" blades for "fast cuts in thick or thin metal" are the ones I'm specifically talking about. I use them all the time instead of the torch on stuff that has to be accurate on thicknesses up to about 5/16".
