Did some searching and found nothing that matched.

I have a speedo that pegs as soon as I start to move. It's a `92 w/ a `93 7.3. Not really sure where to start checking. It's not always been that way, started on our trip bringing it from the east coast.

Thanks for any input.

more information needed
first you need to determine if you are a cable or electric speedo.
get under the truck, take a look for a speedo cable off the trans or a speed sensor off the diff.

in the pickups, yes.
vans, being the red-headed stepchild, usually lagged behind the pickups in the tech advancement dept. it could go either way for a van.

Sounds like you need to upgrade to a 200 mph speedometer or keep your foot out of it :rotflmao

It is electric, on the rear axle
positive on no speedo cable coming out of the trans?
pre-92 used the diff for ABS.
if you are electric speedo, you have two points of potential failure.
one. the speed sensor(cheap)
two. speedo cluster(not cheap)
do a odo check. if your miles are spot on, it's not your sensor.
it's the electronics and drive motor for the speedo.

Don't have it w/ me at the moment, it's getting painted.

When I first got it we had a speed senser put in,
and when it started this on the trip the first thing I did was to stick my hand up behind the cluster . . . no cable  I'm used to older rigs.
It did seem that our odo & trip kept working for the rest of the time . . . I thought that was odd.

So . . . another cluster?
