Shift kit?!

Does any body have a shift kit in there c6? If so, does it help your truck? Would I benefit from it? My truck is a 85 F250 ex. cab 2wd. Also I heard it was cheap, is it? Tim

Yup, I love it. I purcahsed a used tranny that was reciently rebuilt with a shift kit installed, so I don't know what kit was used. It has very firm crisp shift's

The benifit is that with the quick shifts, it spends less time slipping between gears and makes the tranny last longer. Plus you don't loose any acceleration when it is shifting.

Transgo has one but it says not for diesel(***?) and B&M also has one that says for all C6s.The B&M is under $30.Pretty much a box of spring and a sheet of directions.

No. The valve body bolts to the bottom of the trans, so all the work is done by removing the oil pan and working from the bottom. Easy to do in the truck, and if you drop something it falls on the ground instead of in the gears.

I would just plan on pulling the pan and waiting a hour or two! Done a bunch of them and usually the tranny will drip for a couple of hours, from a bunch of different places, always enjoyed that dexron shampoo!

You guys are in florida and Superior makes a real simple kit and their customer support is awesome. I have used their kits in all my rebuilds from 700r4 to e4od and everything in between and have had no problem . Oh btw they are in florida somewhere

Maybe just get a used valvebody, diesel of course from a trans shop and do it up then just bolt it in. I would send you one but I am out at this time.

Trans go SK-6 I'm holding one in my hand for gas or diesel by which springs you use. The B&M kit is a misprint I bought one used it and it would not shift called them up they said do not use on diesel as there is not enough RPM for the governor to overcome the higher line psi. They said they were changing that info so no one else made that mistake. I have been told the trans go sk-6 kit is the only kit you can use in c-6 diesel. I have used many and they do work.

I have never seen one local. But this is this place to get your tranny parts theyare cheap.
