I have a filter, bring whatever oil you want to run. We can also run out and get it here as I have many parts stores within 15 mins
Uh... Not sure about that.Lol
Are you talking stock 6.0 PSD power levels?
You could bulletproof a 6.0 cheaper than building a IDI to have stock 6.0 power.
Well, give me a few more trucks and I'll try it on them, too.Maybe.... I'd like to see it.
And 9/10 people running over factory power without studs, what happens?
Just because one guy can do it, doesn't mean it's reliable and will work for someone else.
At the /crank/. Not at the wheels. But 03-04 was 325/560.
A 7.3 idi with factory or banks turbo and a R&D RD2-110 can put down 250 RWHP, pushing only 12-15 psi of boost.
My 86 with a 7.3, banks turbo and R&D 90cc pump/stage one injectors timed to 8* will make 15 psi, but I'm 90% sure it wouldn't break 200 on the dyno, it's a ****. I drove a 2006 6.0 f550 service truck for two years that I'm pretty sure would stomp that idi lol, and towing heavy......not even a comparison to be made there, might as well shut off the idi.
On my '88 with banks sidewinder and rd2-110, unloaded, you couldn't push the truck over 1k, measured pre-turbo.I am going to ask for the sake of discussion, what do you see for EGTs? Do you have to keep an eye on it or so they stay at a safe level normally?

Towing, it was really only an issue up long grades with cruise control on - floored, you'd get smoke and climbing EGTs. Let off slightly, where there was no smoke? Egts would stay in the 1k range, basically.. and I never felt a power difference between floored and smoking, and 90% throttle where the smoke stopped.
note that if I ever hit 1100f I'd back off a little.
This truck gave me 240+ rwhp numbers two years in a row at Hunting 4 Horsepower with that setup.
Part of that is timing, too - I took a trip somewhat retarded, and it was much worse - less power, harder to keep egts sane etc.
How hot does it get with that combination? Can you flat foot it up a hill without worrying about EGT?
No intercooler, just stock Banks setup.I bet with a little larger more efficient turbo you could be close to 300 hp. Are you intercooled? I'm guessing your exhaust manifold pressure is pretty high with that setup.
I didn't want to get into this on someone elses topic, but there are a lot more factors here. All of that is in NO WAY caused by excessive boost tho!
