just purchased 95 s350. i am told by dealer i need a new front flex plate, small cracks you can see. how often do they break, can i replace the plate without taking drive shaft out?

to answer your question, on not pulling the driveshaft....no.
there's a pilot from the trans to the shaft.
the rubber flex joint is also indexed, so if you do put it in backwards, it will prematurely fail.
be prepared for a solid day's work or take it to a mbz shop.
