refresh power windows?

I there anything I can do to refresh the power windows in my ford? they go down fine but seem to catch or hang when coming up. I i will be taring it apart soon to inspect things but am wanting some insight beforehand.

take the door panel off lube the window tracks and see if and where it is still hanging up when going back up

There's a few things you can do...as marblecrusher said, the simplest thing to do is pull the door panels and see where they're hanging up and correct the issue.

There are three other things you can do...one is to replace the felt pieces in the window tracks. The second is to take some grease and grease up the regulator gears and pivot points.

The third is a bit more involved....this would be to pull the motor out and rebuild it. The motor actually comes apart pretty easily...once you get it apart, put some grease in the bearings and the gear assembly. I would suggest reading this thread for more info.

The window slides are adjustable. Remove the door panel and find the 7/16 hex bolts. I use plain bar soap to lube the window runners. Cut the bar so it fits into the channel and rub it in. Works great.

3m sells a clear lubricant for window guides. I use it on Mercedes sunroof guides. My rear windows on the CC were hanging up on the way up and a little bit in the channels cleared it up real nice. Also did take the door panels off and lubed everything last night as i'm tired of my truck looking like crap so i refreshed the panels a bit.
