Will a brick nose (1990 specifically) core support work on a slant nose (1985)?

why not just replace the entire clip with a bricknose clip? or is that what your sayin your trying to do?

The head light bucket mounting areas are totally different between the two.

If you are removing the '85 clip and putting the bricknose clip in it's place.... then yes, it will swap over. You need every part of the bricknose clip though. I swapped the front clip off a '95 F450 onto my '86 F250. The cowl needed to be changed to the newer style and the bolts that hold the fenders to the bottom of the cab are different. They are verticle on the '83-86 fenders/cab and horizonal on the '87-97 cabs/fenders.

Looks like I'm doing a whole clip swap then. This is for the 85 f250 I just picked up with a ruined frot clip. Good thing I don't hate the brick nose looks. There's a 7.3 brick in the junkyard that I am going to take some donor parts from.
