On a 7.3 when replacing the injectors, caps and return lines.... Does the hole in the injector between the 2 rubber o-rings have to line up with the hole in the return line cap ? Or does the fuel just flow between the 2 o-rings and exit through the hole in the return line cap ? Seems it would be nearly impossible to get the injector holes and return line cap holes to line up while getting the right amount of torque on the injectors. Just have to ask the question before I get it all back together.

Thanks for the input.

No, those lines don't need to line up. The plastic cap is clearanced so the return fuel flows around inside them. You do need to replace the copper gaskets and the torque is 35 lbs on the injector in the head. Use some anti sieze on the injector threads. Its easier removing them the next time.

Thanks for the quick reply guys, I appreciate it. I figured the fuel would flow on the inside of the cap but I also figured knowing my luck, I would get them all back together and then find out the holes had to line up. Now I can finish the job knowing it's done right. :D

Thanks again
