putting turbo on

hay everyone. just a quick question. i have a banks turbo system that i took off a 85 6.9 that i want to put on my 93 7.3. i am pretty sure that it will work fine but wanted to get some input to make sure.any advise would help

i also need a new filter element for this setup, any idea where i can find these. thanks guys

Is this the one with the large square aluminum intake box? If so it is a Banks only part and be careful because there were two different filter heights used over the years.

No idea on the filter but it will work great on the 7.3. Just make sure the turbo doesn't have too much play. Should fit just like it did on the 6.9.

Do yourself a favor and ditch the Banks air box. Get rid of your dependance on them for the air filter, and make more room under the hood at the same time. You can get a Hypermax intake hat, and fab up an open element filter like I did (see the Moose Air folder in the Moose Truck album). That Banks box is bad news for a bunch of reasons.

if i do away with the banks air box and fab up a filter system like yours can you just mount the crankcase vent assm. that the banks has to the big tube of the fabed setup

You could. It would be better though just to vent it to atmosphere, as a road draft tube.
