Excellent! Now that there's a source for the pre-cups I suppose machine work will be easier. I don't even know how much you can take off the heads without effecting compression excessively. :music:

I noticed their description says that the heads need machined after install. Ford allows for a +\- .0025 protrusion or recession. I just swapped some cups from a junk set of heads to my heads recently. The cups sat almost completely flush. I would think you could swap cups without needing to surface the heads if you fell within the tolerance. Maybe these ones are manufactured to slightly different tolerances

0.0025 is pretty small, but I could see how it could possibly cause a leaking head gasket issue, espeially on these high compression ratio high psi engines.

But thats 369 heads! 184 and a half engines! Realistically.. If they build an engine every 2 weeks they'd go through it in a year.
With all of the people who are looking for them, it sure won't take that long.

its funny, when I was first starting on my motor I looked at some refurbished heads from some ebay dealer out of pensacola. We messaged back and forth about them and I kept asking if they had replaced the precups because mine had some cracks and I didnt want to buy a set of heads with the same issue. They would tell me that the precups are in the head. I would ask but are they new? Finally he sent me back a nasty message that said the precups part of the head and called me a ******* LOL Well since he did not know that they were actually removable I decided I didnt want to buy heads from them. But I am a ******* because later I let him rip me off for a crappy injector pump that ended up being a core a month later for one of justin's 80 pumps. You all may have a laugh at my expense now :Thumbs Up edit-(*******)=un-smart donkey

Sadly, that type of thing happens to most of us. Despite the common thinking, cheaper isn't always better. Especially when dealing with our engines.
