Power supply to DLC....

friend has no power going to his scan tool while looking for ABS codes on his '95 K 3500 work truck. Any ideas? TIA!!!

On a Cummins there is a 5 volt supply comming from the PCM to the scan tool dataport, Ifin thats the case on a ferd you may want to look in the PCM

I'd look to make sure there aren't any fuses blown. I know on some vehicles the power for the data link connector is fused in the fuse box.

find a wiring diagram for the DLC, there should be a pin with constant power supply, not sure which pin it is on your application off hand, a wiring diagram will be your best friend on this one.
