It is good to hear (well, actually read) things went well as expected for your steering upgrade, HDXLT.

I put my swap on hold until I can round up a much better puller.

I am looking forward to being free of the typical Ford meander; if this truck drives as good with the REDHEAD as my old 1978 K-20 Chevy, I will be happy.

It would be interesting to know just how many steering boxes we have sold for those guys.

If I read you right, your Carquest puller IS INDEED an OTC 7311A, right ??

So, if I get the same, I should be good, right ??

In the product reviews, the only complaint on that unit is that they provide plain-jane bolts.

Several reviewers commented that they had replaced all the bolts with Grade-8 and no more bolt bending episodes.

Thanks. :)

Only problems I've had with mine are;
The 2 bolts used for tightening the jaws have bent.
...&...
The 2 bolts that hold the jaws to the frame are a little short and tend to loose their nuts.

I have put it through hell (pulling **** it was never meant for), Hell, even destroyed a couple of sockets with it (some by use of a cheater bar, some by using them as spacers for a longer stroke).
