I had the welder over today and we put a pintal plate on my Mack. I went with 3/4" plate. my IH 4900 had 1/2" plate (already on when I bought it) and I jack-knifed the truck/trailer once with the JD 450 on it and the 1/2" plate bent, not much but it definatly bent. I think the 3/4" will do just fine.

next I have to look for a nice air-brake trailer, but I'll have to sell my 12 ton Hudson first

Don,

Good thinking. I made sure to use 3/4" on mine, too.

I have to hook up the trailer lights and the brake controller. I actually had to move my skid steer today (local) so I did it. I am amazed how the Mack pulled it, and even how it stopped w/o trailer brakes. I am still on the lookout for an air-brake trailer, if anyone knows a good deal on one let me know!!!!!!!
