Oops, got a 96 burb

After a bit of searching and without any conclusive evidence I decided there were no 92-93 diesel suburbans, and every local example was priced like a 4 year old car. On a recent trip to Seattle I accidently looked at craigslist and found a fairly nice one owner 96, the price was right and it had all the symptoms of dirty fuel, so I thought, why not buy a truck 800 miles from home and drive it back? It might not make it? Well what would be the fun if it was reliable?

So here is my question, does driving a car with Washington plates around Napa Valley make me a native tourist?
