First thing with any fueling issue is test for fuel pressure

Have you removed the oil fill cap with the engine running to see how much blowby you’re getting? And I know you said it doesn’t smell like coolant, but does the exhaust smell like normal diesel exhaust?

Have you tried cutting the injectors 1 at a time to see if you can narrow down which cylinder it is?
