Burn off rates will vary for different trucks. Mine doesn't seem to care to much what oil is put in it, but I have seen trucks burn through more oil of one brand vs the other. It really depends on the condition of the engine though.

In my opinion, it is not worth running synthetic oil in these engines. Most of these trucks naturally burn oil, and at 8-10 bucks a quart, it isn't worth it. I run Walmart's supertech 15w-40 oil and have had no issues so far. It's cheap and always available...most of the time. I usually wipe out the shelf at Walmart when I need to change my oil. These idi's sure do hold lots of fluids .
