Post Turtle!
Oe of my favorite emergency patches is (many of you will not believe me but it works great). wire brush well -clean with an evaporating solvent, paint a heavy coat of POR15 -apply a lare of fiberglass matt or a layer of paper towels -paint again and layer till you like hoe whick it is.Let dry then filll with deisel or motor oil or just put your feet on a dry floorboard on a snowy slushy day. I prefer fiberglass matt - however one day I was out of fiberglass evrything was closed,so I used paper towels.I don't know how long the paper towels last because it was still sealing a deisel tank 5 years later when I moved from Massachusetts.
In brads situation for extra protection since he had POr any way I would have done a couple layers for grins & giggles.
emergency hell... POR actually recommends this as a fix for sheet metal. ive personally fixed two different vehicles floor pans doing this method. make sure its good and clean. prep is the key with POR15.
paint a heavy layer of POR then use the fine weave fiberglass mat and push it into the POR then paint over it again with another layer. it works much better then fiberglass because it bonds to the metal chemically...not just into the pores like fiberglass resin.
