Oil dipstick

The one on my truck was leaking and I removed it, replaced the o-ring that goes on the tube with one that I had around at the time, but what do I do with the one part that I pry off the block (short one) what can I put on that one to seal? Another o-ring?

Well I guess nobody did this before, but what I did this time was put some gas & oil resistant seal around the o-ring and the second piece for the dipstick and let it sit for some hs, then turn ON and so far everything is good.
