I run Shell Rotella T 20W-50.
Quick question - would it be better to run 20W50 during the summer, compared to the 15W40 I have in now? You know, like how on gassers you switch to a bit thicker oil that you regular winter stuff?

Just a note, unless you have an aftermarket oil gauge any changes that you see in the gauge reading are due to voltage and resistance fluctuations. The factory gauge is hooked to an on/off pressure switch.
So why not just use an idiot light then, why did Ford bother with installing a gauge? Also, will replacing the factory sender with something meant for a real gauge (like what Chevy trucks have) make it work like a real gauge, and if so what sender would be needed? I mean, if voltage and resistance fluctuations make the stock gauge move, why not use a sender that's intended to change voltage and/or resistance?
