Hi to the group…

Basic Question Regarding… Transfer Case LOW RANGE - IN with Hubs NOT LOCKED. Is there any problem with this for Gentle but Precision moving of the truck.

QUESTION; If I want to move my truck [stick] in a very slow and precise way… like when I move it under my shell that is hanging to remove/replace, can I just stick my transfer case in the low range Without Locking My Hubs? Can this cause damage?

Partially answering my own question [lol]..... I would imagine that this could put a lot of extra strain on the rear axels if I was not gentle with it. I think I have heard about people snapping axels this way… but… that was a Very long time ago.

So… what would you think?

Thanks, kj

About the easiest way to back up a trailer with my 5-speed, drop it into 4-lo and creep it back. No problem
