New to this bio/wvo/wmo deal but I'm game

k this is how I see this.....take some WVO which was used for deep fryer....400 + degrees..should be NO water....correct????

Filter with a sock or some sort of filter to eliminate the big sludge..pour that good filtered material into my tank and mix with diesel...is that correct?

I can access between 60-100L every 10 days from one restaurant alone. I'll be checking with other local establishments as well.

I can also get some waste motor oil and hydraulic/gear/trans etc fairly simply as well.

That being said, lets talk filter setups whatcha got show me yer money savers please boys!

Love to start seriously saving fuel costs here as it's not looking good price predictions upwards or $1.50 per L, 3.9L per US gal, 4,.5L per Canadian gal...does not sound pleasant what so ever...time to do something serious with the alternative fuel...

One more thing what changes to fuel lines etc should I anticipate/plan for NOW prior to full blown install in my Bronco!

Before I started running wmo I did a ton of reading about using wvo and processing into biodiesel. WVO and biodiesel require special stuff, hoses, pumps, tanks, because it's very corrosive.
Do some searches on the net for biodiesel change over "kits", that will give you a idea about whats needed for a third tank set up.
During winter you'll probably need a heated tank, start on regular diesel and switch over to wvo, then switch back before you shut it off.(Letting the thinner fuel run through everything so you dont get jelly)

The filtering process is pretty simple. Right now I'm using motor oil filter, water/fuel filter, 1-2 micron "glass" filter, most of that stuff I picked up at local farm store.
I also use CF from pa biodiesel, but I think most of the crud gets filtered out with the other filters.
I started out filtering with a barrel pump and a motor oil filter, and by reading what the other OBer's were doing to filter, added some stuff.

Not trying to talk you out of using wvo, but I would use it during the summer, maybe keep the wmo, wto, waste hydraulic, for the winter time and using diesel #1 or kerro to mix with during cold periods.
Another thing to keep in mind, especially when its cold, if your daily drive to work is short, you'll be "purging" the fuel line more often, and not getting the benefit of cheap fuel.
I've found out it takes at least 2 miles,(3.21 kilometers) to purge to wmo fuel from the fuel system, lift pump, IP, return lines. Using wmo fuel it doesn't take much to make my clean diesel cloud up.
I hope this helps a little. I gotta get some pics of the filter setup and some of the stuff on the pickup, better to explain with pics.

Here are the pics of where I get the hot "coolant" for the tank, with a shut off valve in case of emergency.(Or operator error)

The other pic is the plain jane 3 port valve.(for the fuel coming into the engine, have another one just like it on the return line, didn't want to get under the pickup to take a pic)
The last pic is the fuel line wrapped around the radiator hose to soak up a little heat.

The last four pics are things I collected to just scratch the surface on filtering wmo.
Using a 15 gal chemical barrel, power steering pump with a old electric pressure washer motor, three filters I talked about earlier, plus a whole bunch of pipe fittings to make it all work.
I guarantee it will not win any beauty pageants but it works for me, right now.
