Hello yet again...
I'm going through my truck in preparation to leave for L.A. on Thursday for the holidays. I had other parts of my HVAC system apart (see my other thread
), and decided to pull my blower motor to clean out leaves. Surprisingly, it was pretty well leaf-free...but I came across another issue.
I went to disconnect the plug to the blower motor, and part of the plastic plug came apart in my hand
Upon further inspection, it looks like it was scorched and the wires were in pretty bad shape. I then turned the motor, and while it did turn, it felt like there was a lot more resistance than I'm used to seeing.
Conclusion: looks like the motor's on its way out, and it's been sucking up a lot more electricity than the plug's rated for, and the plug was uncomfortably close to melting...i.e. fire hazard
Good thing I checked it when I did.
So, I need a new blower motor
Are all motors equal, or is there anywhere in particular I should get it from? I'd like to get it today if at all possible.
Thanks!
