My $700 score !

It's an '87 f250 4x4 with a 5spd ! Or so I thought.. I didn't get to test drive it because they couldn't get it to run . I looked it over , knew it just needed the fuel lines bleed ( they ran it out of fuel ) so I bought it as it sat , not running . I paid him and proceeded to bleed the system . A short time later it fired and I drove it home . On the way home I couldn't find 5th .. I looked it over when I hot home and it hit me .. It's a 4spd with a 5spd knob haha . Completely my fault , I should have checked ..

Anyway , it might not be that great of a deal for some of you , but around here it is a steal . It's rust free and pretty straight .

Few questions ..

What are these things pictured below ? The one by the fuel filter looks like a coolant filter , but what is the silver one ?? I think it says Stanadyne Diesel Systems on it ..

Dude, don't short change yourself. That's a heck of a deal for the vast majority of us. After the problems your other truck gave you, you deserve a break.

The one pic looks like an aftermarket filter head. the other one is kinda tuff to figure out. Best of luck with the new rig, 5 speeds or 4.

That looks pretty dang good for $700. The silver canister is the factory fuel/water separator. The thing everyone is told to bypass due to constatly letting air in the system. Looks like it has already been bypassed though.

I didnt know the 4 speed was even an option in 87. Still for 700 you did great

Yep it was, I have an 87 crew cab with a 4 speed.

Nice looking truck, to bad on the 5 speed though lol.

I believe the 5 speed was an "option" for 1987 and the 4 speed was standard. Ive seen very few factory 5 speed 1987 trucks...

There is a fuel water separertor on the driver side firewall to left of the master cylinder which is made by Stanadyne I have bypassed mine cus it leaks worse than sive and the other filter maybe a coolant filter
