my 36 hr saga, fuel, wiring, wiring, brakes

so i had this all written out and i hit delete on something an dit wen tback and i lost it all so ill shorten it up.

The ring connector on the starter split at jack in the box, after a jump and fanagling got it running, went home pulled the ring off, solder it and re-installed it.

then my left rear wheel cylinder went out, i had to plug off the rear system, until i can afford parts.

then th enext morning, fuel filter light comes on, dies a couple blocks later. new filter and some filter removing tools, couldnt get to my tool box in the town over at the time, got it going while teaching someone what i was doing.


that night, damn its running good, go to walmart, leave and go to push in gp dash switch the switch comes apart so i pull the broken part of the switch out of the dash, snap off one of the terminals and touch the other wire til my count down ends.

drive to oriellys get new switch, drive to shop and put new switch in.

So what did i learn?

Fuel filter- If the truck was sitting for 6 months while the trans was out, surely the filter will clog quickly, especially if you started using the rear tank after the PO had probably never used it and a year of me not using it.

starter wiring and wheel cylinder- its a 21 year old truck, wats to expect really itll get fixed in time

my push button-i really dont know why it broke

that was my weekend an expensive one

Thanks for sharing, been thar dun that made the t shirt filthy doin it too...not the exact same issues of course but ya....sux, but we are creative people whom seem to hate the problem and take pride in the ingenuity and creative albeit sometimes crude fixes we make to get by till the real fix can get done.

As a matter of fact, I'm wearing one of those dirty shirts now
