Moose pump questions

This is directed towards Mel, or anyone that knows basically. I was wondering, since the average (lets just say) life span of an IP is 100K miles. Well when it gets to that point, and it needs rebuilt, will it cost what a regular pump would, or do some of the fancy parts need to be replaced as well?

Basically, once moosified, is a rebuild just the same on it as a stock pump, or a little different?

Sorry if its already been talked about, I was just wondering. I'm pretty sure its like a stock rebuild, just replacing the wear parts.

The moose pumps have some propriety stuff in them... I can't tell you what but thats all I really know. The fuel curve is also changed in them but from what to what is beyond my knowledge. I can tell you they work way better than a stock built pump and you get better mpg plus hp... Thats a win win right there...

I would assume it can last as well as the factory original. Even if you do have to replace it after 100k miles it will pay off by then many times over. Also, with fuel lubricity I think it could do better.

I bet the quality is so up to par it will last a long time. But, what happens when it gets time to rebuild. I have no problem sending it backto Mel to get it rebuilt, I just want to know if it's going to be a less expensive rebuild.

But I am saving up for one at the moment, about halfway there !

Just to re-hash an old thread.

If/when a moose pump wears out (and lets face it they will sooner or later), will the pump need to be rebuilt by the same builder, or could any shop rebuilt it.

I guess what I'm asking is, whatever is modified in a moose pump, are they wear items? Items that need to be replaced when rebuilt?
