i fully agree with rich here and im not posting near as much and dont even plan to try and make it to the rally this year. but everywhere else you get flamed for horrid ideas but if it could work you get help. here all the dumb ideas are taken like a 6 year old asked and the serious ideas are shot down by it cant happen it wont work etc. i got a lot of that with my turbo setup when i first joined i said i wanna put an hx35 on one of these trucks and was told no now theres been 3 or 4 on idis making better than stock turbo numbers one even was using the stock piping etc. i just find it funny
the beautiful thing about the internet is that YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!!!!!
if this place doesn't fit you....some other place will. It's OK to have a differing view. Really. There's gotta be somewhere that will make you happy;Sweet you don't need to tear down this place because we won't nursemaid you. There's many others who do value this place and that's why people come and go. But quite a few stay because they happen to like it here.

I'll admit I got pissed when I was basically called an idiot for posting a stupid question. Until I fixed my own problem, and it turned out that I really WAS an idiot for posting the question. That helped me cool down a little. I think that the help here is always better than the "You're an idiot" responses that sometimes happen.

What ever happened to the guy with the 4 door cab on the regular frame with the chopped down box that was like 4 feet long....?

That truck was badass to say the least, only thing it needed was the rear axle moved back a little.

But sadly enough like Brad said the truck was parted out do to title issues.

Anyway, enough with the ********.........back to Corey's original question..............

John (Compu Doc) has always been on and off the board. He'll post for a while, then he won't for months and months. That's just John. Not sure about the other two though.

I don't want to add fuel to the fire, so I am keeping it short and simple.

Everytime I need help, the mass majority is here for me. I am here for others when I can be. That's all that matters to me.

Members come and go, some because they had to sell a truck and have no real reason for saying, others are shown the door. Either way, it's none of my business.

I am just here to lend a helping hand, help others out and shoot the crap in the lounge the odd time.

That's about all I got.

Nope dont like being touched.sorry.

the feeling I get from the now rare posts from mike the owner is hed like to shut the place down.I wouldn't blame him if he did.this place has strayed way off course from what its supposed to be.

Oilburners is NOT for sale nor do I want to shut it down. PERIOD!

Is it the same place it used to be in 03 and 04? Nope, not even close and you know what else? I am both glad and proud I can say that.

Members that helped found this place have drifted off for one reason or another and some of the founding members still visit, post and positively contribute to what I hands down call the best all around diesel site on the www today!

I like guys that think outside the box and push the envelope just as much as I like the guy who comes seeking knowledge and soaks it up like a sponge.

We will always have that crowd that likes to ***** and whine or be an arrogant *******. To you I say move on and ignore it. Let's let OB.net continue to be a tight nit community of diesel enthusiasts.

WOW.

just WOW.

For the folks complaining about drama and personal attacks on this forum, I really gotta wonder what other forums you frequent.

I follow other forums, and this place doesn't have 1/10th the B.S., and personal attacks they do.

I recently asked a simple question on one. Last I checked, it was up to four pages of virulent personal attacks. All it takes is one idiot to make an attack, and a horde of brain-dead, pre-pubescent, troglodytes pile on, all trying to pump up their non-existent self esteem.

This place is a gold mine of useful information, and is constantly being built up by lots of guys with a tremendous amount of knowledge and real-world experience.

My other forums are about 75% idiots, posting erroneous info or outright nonsense, which makes picking through the B.S. to find a few nuggets, a miserable chore.

I don't post much here, because there are already plenty of experts that can, and do, answer the questions much better than I can. And for that, I greatly appreciate your contributions.

I will never understand why people take anything said over the net so seriously. Its a VIRTUAL WORLD, not the real world, and they are just words. Not even said face to face for that matter.

I find it hilarious that some people even try to manifest themselves emotionally via the internet. I think its even more hilarious that people even need to police the very words we type.

My contrabutions are ment to help others with problems. Other than that I attempt to correct whats being posted if something slightly mis's the point but never ever will I cal someone ignorant or stupid just for asking a question. I do feel sorry for those that get information here and then decide to do what has been proven to not work. Seeing these engines with a rod dangleing from the crank makes me sick. Blocks are not replaceable like many other parts are. Will we run out of useable blocks in my lifetime... Nope.. Its just seeing the destruction of a great engine that bothers me. Buying from a person listed in the Hall of Shame after we have tried to "point" the member in the right direction saddens me too. But thats life here. Nothing is perfect for all of us. I'm a member here because I can make a differance. I hope I make a differance.... This is a site that shares a common interest in several things and the idi is just one of them. May this site live long and continue to grow the people that make it what it is... I say thank you to those that keep this site threat free...:hail:D

I used to post lot more when I still had the IDI, but after going to the darkside I don't have a whole lot to add to conversations that are at hand, Mostly I look up the site everyday, to see updates, and mods. on trucks that I know, and to see what my friends that I've made here are up to. Facebook has taken alot of the everyday chatter off of most of the truck sites, but this place still feels like the old neighborhood to me. I really miss George's staircase pictures, and Mike's truck/hauler build projects, but Heath's CC build, Ron's blue trucks, and Darrin's cummins swaps keep me tuned in everyday. Keep on keeping on fellas. ;Sweet

I haven't been on this forum all that long but I just wanted to add that I think it's a great forum. Because of the good folks on this forum and FTE ( many of the same folks) I have learned a metric crap ton about the '93 IDI that I have and the '94 IDI that I had. I have been able to do things to them that I never imagined that I would be able to do to an engine. Anytime that I have ever asked a question here, it has been met with nothing but helpful respect. I can't even come close to contributing as much as most of you more knowledgable guys can but whenever I see a post that I actually can help with, I pay it forward and offer what I can.

I belong to a precision rifle forum that I frequent alot, mainly cause I learn stuff there that helps me in my line of work. There's a bunch of good guys there too but there's also a few ******** that are always bashing people over questions that they feel are stupid. I just don't understand that, If you don't agree with something somebody posts, there's nothing wrong with telling them if you want to but do it in a respectful manner.

But anywho, thanks to the guys on this forum for all of the help that I have received so far!

Have no fear I'm still here!!!!!!!

Sorry if id like to see this site go back to the way it was when it came to life.when everybody got along, arguements were kept friendly and the word banned wasn't in the sites vocabulary.I was part of making this site grow and its a shame to see it going where its going.
This is the internet it won't be the same ever....
