You have no idea what that truck is capable of.;Really My friends grandfather had one new in the late 80's. He put a GV overdrive and an ATS turbo on it. With a 5th wheel hitch bolted to the frame and custom small scale trailers made, he grossed 40,000lbs frequently. I have seen sheared axle housings to prove it.cookoo He had a sleeper body on it and used it like a small scale tractor trailer set up, was a really cool rig.

Mine is registered as a regular truck, but I don't have any inspections. YMMV.

a solid front axle that can gross 7k.

Huh, diff axle for the diesel? My 88 was only rated for 5k up front (460 BB).
14,500 GVW

It weighed 7400 as a (unfinished) cab n chassis.
Gross was 15,000 plus every day we owned it.

On edit that rear axle is a Dana 80, and the front is a Rockwell carryall.

7400 w/o a bed or any load? was it 4wd? thats 1000# more than my truck with bumpers, headache rack, and a loaded tool box plus other stuff that adds up...

tranny tcase(if you have it) e brake rear axle front axle wheels frame are all special also most have some upfitter package with them
ebrake is driveline
4 wheel disc in later years idk about eariler
d80 rear is a large heavy axle usually 4.10 and up ratios
frame is flat past cab like a cab and chassie also its cab and chassie width 31 inches iirc
the trannys are special with autos having a different mod valve in the c6 a different comp in the e4 and all trannys have the driveline parking brake that will be on the tailshaft.
many had the snow plow prep package or ambulance prep package etc. to start with due to their use
also many have had more owners than youre average truck or well say more lives with different beds and jobs throughout the years as its a commertial truck and most places move beds between trucks whichever goes first gets replaced.so holes in the rear frame etc. are very common with air compressors ptos hydro pumps and all those things
