Lack of fuel?

What would be causing my truck to do this? Only happens when the truck is sitting and not when I stomp it going down the road.

Bad sender or wiring to the sender? Just a guess. Maybe when you stomp on it the wires reconnect and life is good. Does it happen with both tanks?

How long since you've dumped some kind of diesel lube into the tank? Might be a sticking metering valve....
