was at the Ontario pick a part today and they had an 89 f350 dulay centurion truck. Motor is already pulled laying on the ground missing too end but it's under the truck so out of rain, bores actually looked great and barely a ridge on top if anyone needs a good bottom end. Also right next to it was a gm turbo diesel. Crazy how they only ran one exhaust bank through the turbo! Found good converter, one exhaust manifold. And one head gasket that looked in great shape, wish I found the other one. Was trying to gauge its condition if the motor. But everything I found looked good

I wish I taken pictures of my junk yard finds and it stuff I've seen but too far from payday so couldn't get lol I got my whole ats kit from valve cover to tailpipe for 250$ off a fresh rebuild 6.9 truck that only had bad trans or something but was sent to scrap. Inside motor was perfect, upgraded rocker assembles of some sort were on it, couple weeks later head was gone and cylinders were clean with cross marks, pistons were very clean idk if it ever started yet. All kinds of custom made interior parts, lighted visor, lighted bed visor type thing on it, air bags, 5th wheel hitch sad to see it go like it did

One of these days I gotta haul my rear end out west and peruse your junkyards...................

The sale off of one of those rust-free bodies would pay for my vacation! LOL

I might do that, I'll add the turbo on the gm was tight, no play and spun free
not worth the time. the pass side exh manifold is worth the work though.
this truck has a Banks WG robbed off a 7.3 and it makes me money at the drags like my Buick used to. many laughing at the truck at the beginning of the evening, not so when I'm done taking their money :D

Those stock gm8 turbos are on the small side, even for a 6.2/6.5. Lol
Couple guys are running vgt's from the 6.7 cummins.

I love the truck! That turbo looks much healthier than the smaller gm one. What's those exhaust manifold go for?and out of curiosity do they fit our idi'?

for anyone wanting to do a homebuilt turbo setup on a GM, that is the only specialized part you need. everything else you can fab with simple tools. what's it worth? I have no clue.
and no. it won't fit on your 6.9/7.3 idi.
