John... Thats a complete timing meter setup for timing by the prefred pluse method. Now if it works you got a great deal. See the rocker switches. Over the top down in the tray you will find two locations for the electrical probe wires to plug into. The probe with the line clamp on it fits the number 1 or 4 injector hard line as close to the injector as possible. The probe with the black handle fits in the tall timing adapter on the front of the engine. Have it about 1/16 or less from the rotating dampner. Connect the positive and negative to the passenger battery. Then press the loweat rocker switch. Then start the engine and rve to 2000 rpm and watch the degrees of timing and rpm readouts. Its just that simple... You will have the same directions on the inside of the meter cover....
Gary, I assume it goes in the top hole of this pic, how do you avoid the spinning fan belts and pulleys, what is the best way to route the wires/flexible stalk on the probe with the black handle?
I set the mag probe up behind the vacuum pump. That way its behind all the spinning belts and such... Read those directions that came with your meter... They will tell you where all the other rocker switches should be set... Its a real easy meter to use... Yes... That tall timing fitting on the tab is the one you need... Clean it out with a 5/16 drill by hand so it makes a good contact....
