So I went to Pick and Pull yesterday and ended up picking up a lot of smaller parts for both my trucks. It started out pretty good. My truck had been surging a little after starting it up from a few stops I had made on the way down, I figured no big deal...I still had a quarter tank. (you might already see where this is going). I leave Pick and Pull and get into the truck. I cranked it over a few times, and no start. I used a mist of ether and crank it some more, and no start. I start stressing out. My IP is warm, and I try pouring cool water on it hoping my new U-Haul pump is not bad. Still does not start. I pressed the schrader valve and air came out. Now it is about 5:30 and they are getting ready to close. I figured screw it and cracked all the injector lines. I switched tanks and cranked the hell out of it and purged all the air out of the lines and tighterned them one by one in a rush. Guy stopped off and loaned me a little more ether and it roared to life!

I get the truck home and I can smell Diesel all over. I open the hood and see fuel spurting out of the injector fitting for the number three cylinder.

Long story short, I had to drop the side tank to fix the pick up (lock ring was too hard to get out in the truck). I had read about it, but never had experience with a failed pick up.

So, today I ended up BACK at Pick and Pull to buy a whole set of lines for a 7.3 (mine is a 6.9 and I have not seen a 6.9 to take an individual line off of). I also picked a 7.3 filter head...now I have a water seperator!

So, as I replace the lines, I found out why the fitting cracked. The injector was stripped -cuss! Now I have 7 U-Haul injectors and an old one in there. Oh well!

Sorry for the long post, I just needed to vent!
