Good luck with it!

Don't forget the differences between the van engines and truck engines. Drivers exhaust manifold, oil cooler, and motor mounts if I remember right. Take some pictures and send them along.

Did that van engine you have use a Saginaw power steering pump? (The GM canned ham pump)

CP, I didn't know about the differences in oil coolers? The truck engine only has two bolts holding it to the tranny, everything else is off. So I hope to have it out tomorrow and the other one in place. Will get some pictures but for some reason mine don't always get through security :) ?

Oil cooler has a difference in the angle of the oil filter. I think the front header for it is a little different too.

No, van cooler headers will not work. The bundle is the same, the front header may also be the same, but not 100% sure on that one. The rear is defiantly different and will not work in a truck frame. The motor mounts are different also, they look alike but the fasteners are not in the same place, we just had a member go through that agony in the last few weeks. Also the drivers (I believe its the drivers) exhaust manifold is different also. It will not work in the truck chassis. One manifold is the same, the other isn't. One other difference in the van vs truck engine is the fuel filter mount. It is on the passenger front in a truck, the drivers front on a van.

Any one have the part numbers or sizes for the oil cooler O-rings? Here are some shots of late night engine hoisting. ;)

Got mine from rockauto.com.

Don't get the ones from the parts stores, they can handle the job. They harden quickly and lose their seal. The VR should be what international used.

Snik, thanks for the birthday greeting! Worked on it from 9 to 9 and I am hung up with the bellhousing jammed against the fire wall and the passenger motor mount studs about 3/4 inch from the holes. :dunno Had to call it a night, will be tied up with work from 9 to 9 tomorrow so it will be Thursday before I can get back on it. My wife is not really appreciating sharing her vehicle. :) Also for future reference the 6.9 used different size bolts on the motor mounts than the 7.3, at least on the drivers side. I had to drill out the truck mounts to 12mm vs the trucks 10mm. The cooler went well, bought the O-rings from the IH dealer for $40 vs $53 from the ford dealer.

oh yeah, need some help with my Pop Tester. I couldn't find an adapter (Ace, TSC, Advance) to mount my injector line 12x1.5 thread to my NPT threaded T on my tester. Any ideas?
