Ken... What did you set the tps at???

TPS=FIPL? I'm pretty sure that's right.

I set that this morning. The truck hasn't moved yet--didn't know where the FIPL was set, and I don't really plan to move it til I take it for a careful drive to have it timed. It sounds real good, but may need to be advanced a bit. The timing marks indicate just a hair bit retarded.

The FIPL---now set at 1.1 and 3.94 WOT. That had to be set because it came off for the rebuild. I put it back on according to markings I made, and it was at 1.18 and 4.02 before I reset. Actually, pretty close for eyeballing.

TPS... Throttle positioning switch... Found on the drivers side of the pump. Your voltage numbers are great. I would try to maintain those at that setting after the timing is set...

Easy enough to do. If setting the timing changes the numbers, I'll adjust it again. It's about a 10 minute job. The longest part of the job is warming the engine. I wish everything were that easy.

I'm just back from the first test drive. I drove up 880 to the airport area, and back, a total of 8-10 miles.

The truck runs well. I think the timing can be advanced some, but I need a meter to confirm. The coolant hit about 195°F, and the transmission 180°F. The real shock was the EGT reading. The pyro read half of what it did before the new pump and injectors. The ambient temp is 70°F, and the pyro got up to 350°F, cruising 880 at 60mph, going up a slight grade. Previously The pyro would fluctuate much more, much quicker, at noticeably higher temperatures. At first I thought there was a loose connection and it wasn't working, but then I saw a slight movement.;Sweet The exhaust showed only moderate smoke when I nailed the go pedal.

I'll adjust the timing first, then consider adjusting the fuel.

BTW, I weighed the truck while I was out. With me sitting in it, one tank full and the other a bit better than half, it weighs 11,120 pounds. That's with the big cabover camper (see pictures).
