My truck runs again.
Guess I didn't screw it up too badly while working on it.
To bring everyone up to date, my truck died the day after it was timed at Towcat's last BBQ. It drove home, parked, and refused to start the next day.
I finally got enough money together to have Typ4 rebuild the IP, and to buy new injectors from him. Both the IP and the injectors were original to the truck, a '92 F350 with 187,000 miles. See my previous post about the injectors.

I can't say enough good things about Russ (Typ4). The quality of workmanship, the promptness, the attention to detail, the attitude...all excellent.
Yesterday and today I installed the rebuilt IP and the new injectors and return line. The job was not as hard as I expected. I just took my time to be sure I did things right---measure twice and cut once. Once it was all back together, the problem remained of clearing the air out of the fuel lines. That was a matter of time and patience, cranking and being careful not to overheat the starter motor.
It finally fired, started, and purged the last of the air. It sounds nice. The two remaining jobs (I hope only two) are to check the timing, and adjust the FIPL.
I feel so much better now. I think it's Miller Time.;p

I wonder if I'll get it all right?
), but I know a number of people who would be offended by your statement...in both NorCal and SoCal
