"ZF 5 speed info for the world" will always have that problem. Each time zf updates their site all the links will go dead. If you could grab the info and put it on this site it won't happen anymore. As long as the info is not changed/updated, that would probably work. These trannies are fairly old now, I doubt anything would change.

I do know that many that have contributed to the Tech Articles, and also other posts that have pictures, but were not in the Tech Articles have stated that webshots was the ONLY copy of the picture they still had, and apparently webshots made it much more difficult to retrieve pictures than it was to deposit it them. After some tried diligently and found it was futile to attempt to retrieve pictures from there, they just finally gave up. One thing to remember, there were A LOT of pictures these individuals lost that were personal family pictures and the like, not just the IDI pictures... Most got very disheartened with webshots "ate" all their photos and "memories" with one fell swoop. I would say unless there is a repository like Gandalf has, these pictures have been lost to the internet........

yeah this is crazy! one should never do this.you can burn a lot of pics from time to time to cd/dvd or along with your online storage also keep your cd's burnt or keep updating a devoted hdd.
it's good to burn to a media (dvd/cd) from time to time,at least for the important fam pics and what not,keeping them in a fireproof box in your home.

shoot,you can even buy high capacity usb flash drives cheap these days that will hold thousands of pics.just keep it updated every 3 months.

nope. not the right pic. there are like 16 pics missing from the FW separator exposed one. I remember that one, mel took apart a firewall mounted seperatpr.

oh yup.right.my bad.oh wow i didn't think anyone messed with those.too failure prone.it's probably best to replace those with something much more reliable.though cleaning is free.well someone can take one apart and post the pics to show again.all ya need is a volunteer.

if i had a pre '87 idi i would probably update to the '87+ system......but alternatively i would just grab one of these:

looks like for the 40-60 range you could get yourself a decent setup with clear drain bowl to boot.but nonetheless off topic for that particular article anyway.

You guys are doing a great job and I want to say thank you. It's great when folks come together and get stuff done. That's one of the cool things about this community.

If I can lend tech support or pictures, let me know. I don't want to get in the way. I hate it when too many people try to work on the same thing.
