IDI Parts aquisitions/hording LOL

So just cleaning shop, I'm seeing a fantastic and very successful parts acquisition process going on

Super would say I've a problem with hording, and some may tend to agree, however I see it as a solution to hard to find parts being kept on hand for times when $$$$ is scarce and time is of the essense....broke down no coin to fix it type deal...

So that being said I snapped one pic of my collection however as I go through some stuff more n more I'll be snapping a few more, people want something let me know I may part with it ya like that will happen...no really I'm doing cleanup for a reason super wifey I have to thin the heard of uneeded parts

Um well ok so maybe a few parts will go

So here is most of my IDI starters, that I found I can't recall if I have more but the one with wire attached is from the crippled hippo and spun that engine over FAST so its getting a bath and thorough checkup as it's likely the one I'll use.

The other dirty one is from white rhino and the two others, spares I've managed aquire

3 IP's are spoken for already along with 3 cams, not sure what else, gotta dig up my heads too and look at precups...doh

Nice collection of starters Al. Hoarding parts is a bad habit thats hard to break.. I know this all too well. I'm looking at 3 cams with the shrust plates and gears on them now. 2 of the cams are new oem and in the oem Ford Box too. What am I ever going to do with those. New cam... New gear.. New everything.. I need help bad...

Ya I've gotta get this all sorted out here so I can make better use of space and stowage of parts.

I'm going to start tagging, and cataloging parts in a book so I know what I have and condition of part when came off and year it came off and miles it had on it.

Kind of like auto wrecking 101

This will help me as I'm finding out I got stuff I don't know what it's for any more and kinda PMO!

Al.. Way back in 2007 I rebuilt my engine a second time after I melted it for the freezeplug fiasco. I felt because I was deep into the engine and replaced the bearings and the pistons with rings the oil pump should be just a reach back and do it. I knew I had a new one around here somewhere. Well no matter where I looked no new oil pump was located here in my many hiding places for "stuff". So I bought an International oil pump that was still in the oem box off ebay really cheaply too..... About 18 months later I found not one but two new oil pumps. One was an oem pump in the ford box and the other one was a Melling. So I now have 3 spare oil pumps. 2 new ones and one that pumped some 330 degree oil that has 5200 miles on it. Too many spares...

When i had a gasser scout i had all kinds of extra parts. From starters to rocker arms. Not so much with the idi. I just grabbed an alternator and gp controller at pic a part though.

I don't get on much lately but I've still got a Hugh hoard as well. Thinking about selling off most of my idi stuff. Haven't started the truck in over a year. Hell I think the keys are missing to...
