I do too, unfortunately there are none close to me.

What I need:

zf-5 rear case half for a 4x4.

I will either pay you for your time (let me know which junkyard has a 5spd 4x4 IDI with a transmission)

I will pay you for that part if you can pluck it from the junkyard.

Located in Southern Illinois, can take a trip in a 2 hour radius.

Go to car-part.com, select the year, model and something close to the part like a transfer case. Enter in your zip code and sort by distance. That should give you a pretty good starting point for all the local wreckers with potential.

Anyone know if the case is the same for all ZF5s?

I think I've seen 1 ZF trans in 10 years of frequenting these yards but I'll keep an eye open.

I'd suggest inquiring with all the local trans shops and putting want ads up here, FTE & Pirate 4x4 and anywhere else you can think with fords. I've heard of enough cases of cracked cases that it seems like a core wouldn't be *too* hard to find.

I've got a complete 4wd S5-42 I'll probably be selling in the next few months, but it'd probably be more than you're looking to spend plug shipping would be a pain.

From what I gather, only the 460 rear case half will interchange.

I've already hooked up with a core buyer, but even with him, he usually gets cracked cases.

If you are serious...about this, I'll make a deal with you.

One I've gotta pull my transmission and swap aonther zf into it. If my new one is good to go, shifts and is good I'll tear the rear section off of mine and provide you with it.
