Well it looks like I have come across a possible good find. Friend of mine has a Jasper reman 7.3 in an International cab over with an Allison auto. The motor only has 25,000 on it and he said he would sell me the whole truck for $2500. I know that Jasper gas motors are very good quality so I can only assume that these are no different. A couple things that I am not sure of though. Will this bolt right up to my ZF5 after I swap the fly wheels? Also this motor is a V belt setup where my current one is a serpentine. Can I swap all my stuf over and make that on serpentine?

If I end up getting it I will be getting rid of the rest of the truck after I yank the motor so if ya'll need anything let me know.

Jasper has a good reputation, but results with diesels are mixed here. Keep in mind that everything will swap over, but you may have to swap a lot of parts like oil pans, oil coolers, exhaust manifolds and other parts if it is coming out of an IH truck.

That is what I am going to look at when I go see it. Mine isn't going to last much longer so I am going to have to do something and this option is cheap and close to me so I am trying to weigh it out. If I can do the swap myself I think I can do it pretty cheap.

The oil pan and pickup will be differant. Just use yours. The blocks are the same. If you have the serpintine belt just change it over. If you motor is v-belts and you changing to serp. You may need a differant alternater and a/c upmp. Thats what I found out on changing my v-belt to serp belt plus the mounts for the ps. ac, alt and vac upmp. The serp is the way to go. One belt beats the heck out of the multi v belts. And gee... guess which belt breaks first??? Its the alt belt so now you need to remove ALL THE BELTS just to get at that one... -cuss Carry 2 serp under the seat along with a spare idler and tensioner. Its really cheap insurance... :Sly

Well that answers that question. All my accesories on my old motor are pretty new so I think I will just swap them over and go serpintine for sure then. Going to look at the truck this weekend so hopefully it will turn out good.
