But I can't. I'm looking for one of these reducers in aluminum to weld directly to the intake.

Any know where I can find one?

I saw a cone, but then you would have to put you a piece on for your boot.
Do you need it to be straight up?

It doesn't have to be straight up. Just looking to add something to slide a silicone elbow on.
I would use a 5" to 4" and use a silicone boot that is 4" to whatever size you need
I can't even find a 5 to 4 that isn't a cone lol.

Could you use one that had no straight on the 5" side? Basically a flare from 3 up to the 5 since the 5 is being welded it would not require a straight.

You'll probably need to call a local metal supplier to see if they can make you what you need. Otherwise buy a pipe expander

Yes that should work. It just can't taper a bunch because of the lip .

Heck, take a piece of 3"x1/4" wall aluminum pipe to an exhaust shop and have them do it for you....

Easy enough to find, it's an aluminum boat seat pedestal, a local boat shop should have one in their scrap bin from putting in a sliding/swviel captain's seat.

I'll have to do that. Can't find a cheap expander that size.
