How should the IP when turned by hand?

How should the IP feel when turned by hand?

I now have my Ip out. when I turn the drive shaft there is NO resistance.:eek: its like spinning the front wheel on a bike.

The rotation should be accompanied by a little bit of noise. Clicking and what not. Since you obviously have the pump in your hands, you can take the triangular cover plate on the lower passenger side off to reveal the turn up screw. As you turn the shaft, you should see that mass inside rotate. A new pump will have more resistance then a worn one. However, there is nothing to resist the rotation other than the seals.
