HELP!!!!NO START

I was working on my 83 mazda B2200 diesel.I accidentally cranked the truck while it was in gear.Put it in neutral and go to start it and it wont crank.Rather than all the lights lit up and the glowplug controller buzzing, I just get a couple of lights faintly lit up and the glowplug controller just makes some irregular clicking/thumping sounds

Help, what did I do?I was test fitting a new muffler and now the truck doesn't work.

sounds like a low battery to me??

Check all your battery connections and be sure that they are tight and not corroded. Ive had planty of problems with my vehicles due to worn out terminals and corroded wires.

By cranking in gear you might have overheated one of the wires.

The 9 year old battery just uped and decided to quit.
