Hi...I bought my first diesel (after 20 years of wanting one) about a year and a half back. It's a 1990 F350 Crew, 4x4...with a utility box. I was in school at the time...and what I really needed was a dependable, fuel efficient vehicle...but the price was right...so I couldn't resist... 
I also have had a dream for about 15 years of putting a 4BT in my 84 Scrambler. I know it's all the rage now...but back when I first hit on the idea...I couldn't find a lick of info about such a thing...the main thing that has kept me from making that jump over the years was a lack of finances...hopefully...this restriction will soon be lessened since I've finished school for the time being.
Currently, my truck and Scrambler are sitting in Florida as I recently moved to Oklahoma and once I get to work...I can go get them...
